Meet Dr. G
My name is David Glennon, but most of my students call me “Dr. G.” I am thrilled to serve as the
principal of Herbert Hoover Elementary School. I live in Wilmington, DE, with my wife, Janet (Mrs. G.). I
always tell her that while I do have a challenging commute to work every day, it is worth the trip. We
have the best students, teachers, staff, and parents in the world!
I grew up in Millbrook, New York. I earned a bachelor's degree in politics at the Catholic University of
America in Washington, DC. I earned a master’s degree in education from Eastern University and a
second master’s degree in educational leadership from Cabrini University. I earned a doctorate degree
in Elementary and Secondary Educational Administration from Capella University.
I have served as an educator in Chester, Philadelelphia, New Jersey, Florida, and Delaware. I have had
the privilege of working at Hoover since July of 2016. I love my job!
I promise you that our teachers, support staff, and I will work hard this year to help your child to
experience success academically and socially. I encourage you to consider joining our PTO. They work
hard to provide several fun events for our students and parents throughout the year, and they are
always in need of volunteers.
We are also always looking for excellent individuals to help us to “build futures.” If you know of anyone
