Hoover is a PBIS School. This means that we use the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports program to teach our students how to make appropriate behavior choices. We have three simple expectations at Hoover:
- Be Respectful
- Be Responsible
- Be Safe
When students make appropriate behavior choices, we reinforce these behaviors with specific praise and tickets. The tickets can be exchanged for a sticker so that everyone knows that the child made a good behavior choice that day. All students who earn a sticker during the week are eligible to participate in a raffle where the child could possibly earn a prize! When a child makes an inappropriate behavior choice, we reteach our expectations to the child. We also work with the child, the child's parent, and the child's teacher to help the student to make better choices in the future.
